Question of the Week
In two days the most controversial film of the year will be released, Mel Gibson's
The Passion of the Christ. While I'm not sure the world exactly needs another Jesus film (I'm quite content with the trio of Pasolini's
The Gospel According to St. Matthew, Scorsese's
The Last Temptation of Christ and
Monty Python's Life of Brian), I'll probably go see it just to see what all the fuss is about (it's going to be weird that the #1 movie of the week is going to be a subtitled Aramaic/Latin film). However, the film's release has inspired a new question of the week:
Name a film that particularly illuminates a religious or spiritual narrative, theme, or idea, whether or not you are a believer. What about this film makes it interesting from this standpoint? This question is not restricted to Judeo-Christian beliefs, and everyone, if you wish to contribute, be respectful of other people's beliefs
As usual, this question is open to all blog members and blog readers. You may answer as many times as you wish.
