I am such a fanboy that I probably shouldn't be taken seriously but:
Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones
I loved it. I loved every blessed minute of it. I haven't felt such pure bliss during a movie in years. Empire
only barely noses it out as the best of the Star Wars
movies. My love of the story and characters clouds all my judgment. All I could do was feel like I was a little boy again, seeing Return of the Jedi
with my father, marveling at the Force and being so frightened of the villains I had to cover my eyes. All of my critical capacity flew out the window (which didn't happen during TPM, but I liked it still). All of the history of this fantasy world I envisioned, playing with my Kenner toys in a sandbox, was being played out before my eyes. It was a joy and a pleasure and the next film can't come fast enough. A
Other thoughts on Star Wars
that include SPOILERS
-In Empire, the film does a very clever job of showing Luke's prosthetic hand. Anakin's is a joke.
-Padme's outfits are outstanding. Where can I get my girlfriend these clothes?
-Yoda gets to be Bruce Lee, Col. Kilgore, and of course Yoda.
-Great moment reminiscent of Bond meeting Villain when Jango Fett and Obi-Wan meet. There has always been a serious "secret agent" aspect to the Jedi that has only been hinted at and never realized until this film.
-Lightsabers kick ass, inherently. And this film had more of them than ever.
-The slow burn of Anakin is done really well. The "You aren't all powerful" "Well I should be" exchange sounded really awkward in the trailer, but given the context of the movie it works and Anakin's descent into darkness is amazing to watch.
-I can't wait to see it again.
